Strategic Thinking
Strategic thinking focuses on finding and developing unique opportunities to create value by enabling a provocative and creative dialogue among people who can affect Somali’s direction. It is the input to strategic planning—good strategic thinking uncovers potential opportunities for creating value and challenges assumptions about a country’s value proposition, so that when the plan is created, it targets these opportunities. Strategic thinking is a way of understanding the fundamental drivers of Somalia.

Somalia's future is full of opportunity, but the action of strategic thinkers are required to make the future productive. In today's fast-changing environment, both leaders and individual contributors alike need to have a broad perspective, vision, and an awareness of the cultural trends and organization developments shaping their world.

Strategic thinking is designed to help leaders and individual contributors find balance between meeting today's expectations, requirements and tomorrow's possibilities. To be successful, everyone must learn how to keep an eye on the opportunities, issues, and concerns that may affect future results. The Somalia Strategy Forum provides rich exercises and opportunities for the development of practical skill that are designed to help leaders and team members successfully capitalize on the forces and events that are shaping their future. Engaging the Somali diaspora in strategic thinking will help Somalia to develop.
